Roger A. Bird
Mr. Bird practices in the areas of personal injury, municipal law, commercial litigation, and labor law. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1972 and the University of Notre Dame School of Law in 1975.
John T. Svendsen
Mr. Svendsen, of counsel, concentrates almost exclusively on estate planning, probate and real estate law. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1964 (and from its law school in 1967).
Robert P. Brothers
Mr. Brothers graduated from Michigan State University's College of Business in 1982 and the University of Toledo Law School, magna cum laude, in 1985. He has been inducted into the Order of the Coif, which is a legal honor society admitting only those individuals who finished in the top 10% of their class at select law schools. He was employed as a Staff Attorney to the Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals, before entering private practice. His practice areas include: Business law; Probate and Estate Planning, including adoption, guardianships, conservatorships, and administration of wills and trusts; Real Estate; Tax, including employee benefits; and select Litigation. Mr. Brothers has authored "Ask a Lawyer" column in the Sturgis Journal, and he has been a speaker for the Michigan Institute of Continuing Legal Education on estate planning matters. He has served as the President of the St. Joseph County Bar Association and is a member of the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee for the State Bar of Michigan and the Employee Benefits Committee for the American Bar Association's Section on Taxation. Mr. Brother is a director for Century Bank and Trust. Mr. Brothers has also served on the Board of numerous non-profit and exempt organizations, as well as being a past president of the Sturgis Kiwanis Club, the Klinger Lake Country Club, and the St. Joseph County United Way. He is a native of the City of Sturgis and lives there with his wife Lori.
Eric J. Scheske
Mr. Scheske is licensed to practice in Michigan and Indiana. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1988 and the University of Notre Dame School of Law, magna cum laude, in 1991. He is the past President of the St.Joseph County Bar Association. He practices in the following areas: Creditor's Rights, Corporate, Tax, Real Estate, Wills and Trusts, Probate, Guardianships and Conservatorships, Municipal Law, and Charitable Organizations. He has provided reduced-fee or free legal assistance to many non-profit organizations, including the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce, The Link (child care organization), Sturgis Civic Players (local theater), Sturgis Youth and Family (social issue organization), Grotto Press (national non-profit book publisher), and Centro de Ayuda (Hispanic outreach group). He represents hundreds of business clients, including home-based businesses, small retail stores, doctors and other professionals, banks, and large manufacturing companies. His business clients include companies from southwest Michigan, northern Indiana, and the metroplitan Detroit area. He also represents many individuals with their real estate transactions and estate planning, including preparing trusts, wills, and powers of attorney. He lives in Sturgis, Michigan with his wife, Marie, and their seven children.
Robert K. Pattison
Mr. Pattison is licensed to practice in Michigan and Indiana, including federal district courts. He graduated from Grand Valley State University in 1988 and Thomas M. Cooley Law school in 1991. His legal education and practice experience includes National Team Moot Court; Law Clerk, Michigan Public Service Commission Administrative Law Judge Division; Law Clerk, 45th Judicial Circuit for the State of Michigan; Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, St. Joseph County, Michigan. Mr. Pattison’s practice includes general civil litigation, family law, personal injury, wrongful death, and criminal law. He is also an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Sturgis and handles prosecution of all ordinance violations. He is a member of the St. Joseph County Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, and State Bar of Michigan. He is a former member and past president (2002-2003) of the Sturgis Chapter of the National Exchange Club. He is a current member of the Sturgis Chapter of Rotary International and the President of the Camp Fort Hill Board of Trustees. He resides in Sturgis with his wife, Susan, and their three children.
Maureen Teunisson
Mrs. Teunissen is an honors graduate from both Hope College and Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Her legal experience includes estate planning, probate and real estate matters. She practices in these areas and is developing other areas of practice as well. She currently resides in Middlebury, Indiana, with her husband Dave and son.
